The Office of Evangelization and Catholic Formation is a part of the Department of Parish Ministries. The Office is a dynamic alliance of the ministries of Adult Education, Catechesis/Religious Education, Evangelization, R.C.I.A., Young Adult Ministry, Youth Ministry and the ministry of the Prairie Star Ranch. We provide parish consultation, certain direct programming, a networking point, and support to the Archbishop concerning the forenamed ministries. We care deeply about the people of the Archdiocese, and we work tirelessly to bring the hope of the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of Northeast Kansas. Evangelization & Catechesis
The call of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis is to make Jesus Christ known and loved throughout northeast Kansas. This goal is accomplished through the proclamation of the Gospel, the call to conversion and adherence to the person and teachings of Jesus, the formation of Christian communities, and the on-going training and handing on of the Christian faith to those who choose, by grace, to follow Jesus Christ. Adult Education, Catechesis / Religious Education, Evangelization, and RCIA are supported by this office.
Young Adult Ministry
The Young Adult Office is working to build comprehensive young adult ministry throughout the Archdiocese of Kansas City by providing direct services to young adults, such as diocesan programs and events, as well as providing support for clergy, parish staffs, and young adult leaders. As a team member of the Archdiocesan Evangelization and Catholic Formation Office, we hope to inspire young adults understand, develop, and strengthen their vocations, and dare to live them as mature Catholic Christian disciples of Jesus Christ.
Youth Ministry
The Youth Office serves to animate parish ministries with the Spirit of Jesus Christ through modeling life-changing Catholic youth events and programs, providing vital resources to parish youth ministers for their pastoral and formational needs, and helping parish leadership teams in building vibrant youth ministries. In all we do, we aim to infuse the spirit of Jesus Christ through the our Archdiocese.
Prairie Star Ranch
The mission of Prairie Star Ranch is to bring youth and families closer to Christ and His Church. To this end, the Prairie Star Ranch is dedicated to providing retreat support, consultation, and facilitation for the youth and familial community of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas and beyond. This beautiful 291 acre facility is open year-round for retreats, special events, and camping.
